When Miss Elfrida
Frobisher leaves her country backwater and the Rev
Stanley Erskine, her clerical suitor, in order to
chaperone her niece Prudence in London, she does not
anticipate any particular difficulty. But unfortunately
Prudence has developed an attachment for an unsuitable
man, and employs all her considerable cunning to foster
it behind her aunts back. Determined to prevent a
scandal, Elfrida seeks to foil her nieces schemes,
only to find herself involved with the very eligible Mr
Rufus Tyler in a scandal of her own. Flight from London
seems the only solution, but Prudence has more plans up
her sleeve, entailing even more embarrassment for her
aunt and Tyler, but this time involving Mr Erskine as
well. Furious with Prudence, Elfrida yearns for her quiet
rural existence, but it takes a mad dash in pursuit of
her niece for her to realize where her heart truly lies. Background to The Other Miss Frobisher Large Print version published by Ulverscroft Large Print |
